The obsession was further fuled by my stumbling upon The Purse Forum.
To be honest I really wonder how many of us are actually familiar with TPF. I assume that most designer handbag enthusiasts MUST read the forum. Personally I stayed in the closet for quite a while, ashamed to admit that I was a shallow TPFer. Tapi sebab sekarang dah buang tebiat dengan ada blog bagai, tetiba aku dah tak segan silu untuk mengaku *muahaha*

Strangely enough, I never caught on to other designers; I became infatuated with Louis Vuitton and subsequently Chanel like a moth to a flame.
Pre-2008, I never understood what the appeal for Louis Vuitton was. To be quite honest, I initially thought the monogram was frankly fugly. I even tried to dabble in a few fake LV small leather gooods only to find myself completely turned off by their shoddy and disgusting quality and the horrible shameful feeling of a wannabe. Then, after being duped into buying a hideous fake Alma for RM450 which was supposedly ORIGINAL LV SECONDS wtf? I vowed never to purchase another, other than from the boutique. After many hours on TPF and countless sleepless nights, I had the opportunity to purchase my first LV; the humble monogram speedy 25. When I held it in my arms I was simply dumbfounded and completely blown away by the striking clarity of the monogram and the superior workmanship. Original monogram seriously cantik! But I digress.
A word of warning for those who have tendancy for obsessive compulsive disorder. Enter TPF with caution lest you too get sucked into the abyss. Being an info junkie, it was a bleeding addictive place for me to lurk. My hunger for information was insatiable and I was constantly on the forum to scour latest news and updates. It was merely weeks after my mono speedy when I.just.had.to.have the Azur speedy. And it wasn't long after that I began longing for other designs...

Babe, again, very very well said and well put. kesian kau kena tipu! i started off buying A+++++++ imitation sebab aku tak sanggup nak part with my hard-earned money and as well the design i wanted always the leather more expensive original. all my imitations are nice and nobody can tell them apart - siap dgn serial number and holograms etc hehehe. i have given most of them away but kept a couple of very very very good ones. i love my fakes only slightly less than my genuine ones coz i spent good money for them. i love all my bags, and i dont discriminate hahahaha! my first LV was a purse back in 2004 and i didnt buy any bags/purse until 2007. my pesanan to people is: dont buy fake to pass it off as originals. thats fraud. i am proud of my fakes but i have personal sense of gratification buying genuine articles and i havent turned back since.

nope, i am not a TPF-er. aku malas nak register hehehe. i suck knowledge through google and credible blogs like yours hehehe. also i tend to go into the boutiques and ask them plenty of annoying Qs! i think the key to buying really really good fakes is to know your bags inside out. one of friends went to Turkey baru2 ni and from what i've heard Turkey is heaven for very high qualities fakes. a few years ago a couple of friends went and bought bags that I SWEAR very very close to ori no one can tell. i am a bag fanatic and even i cant tell except for the fact that i knew they were coz i was told. but they paid hefty money for it. this friend yg baru balik ni unfortunately didnt know her bags so the ones she bought were obviously fake but they weren't very expensive. i'd love to see Turkey's version of flap.
i have 2 fake fendi B bags - large and small. i keep them coz they are lovely and i get compliments all the time. nobody knew they were knock-off and i always tell. oh i also have a Gucci Pelham in guccissima leather and 2 Chloe Ediths. LVs and Chanels are very tricky to imitate. i bought an east west tote - the worse i have spent my money on and that fake bag was THE reason i decided to buy originals. hehehe. i have tried to give away these fakes but i just couldnt. i really love them!
Verde, tu la memang dah agak pon, I love that place; the funky poeple in the lV forum and the elegant ladies in the Chanel forum especially. Tapi sekarang dah tak active, tengok2 je...hehehe. Rest assured, kalau ada hajat nak beli hembeg baru, simply log on to tpf and you will be enabled in no time kan!

Lady, good for you that you are not, you do have that OCD streak in you hehehe. I agree LV and Chanel difficult to immitate. Tapi semenjak kena burned before, I still can't do fakes, even other labels. Aku menangis giler kot beli a fake LV for nearly RM500!!!It still invokes negative feelings in me. Sumpah serik. But I'm sure yours are lovely!

I'm a TPF-er!! My obsession started 4 years ago and since then i'm hooked!! My first purchase was a humble mono speedy 30 which I recently sold and regretted. From LV, I moved to Tods and Chanel. It's addictive, it's also harmful to the pocket.. haha.

Hi Sally! Ooh another confession, yeay! You know, after falling in love with Chanel, I went through a phase of feeling tired of my LVs, especially my mono speedy. However, I dare not get rid of it just in case I have seller's remorse. Recently I started bringing it out again and realize that yeah, I still love it ;D. Oooh I would love to see your collection *wink* TPF rocks!

The TPF to memang exactly as what you describe .. an abyss! or shall I say a black hole? I just sucks you in!
Last year, one of my customers came into the store and bawak a bunch of bags in. She said she "inherit" it from her mom and would like to figure out if its fake or not. Memang semua quadruple A quality. Usually its the metal's that give them away.
But they were really good!! kena belek gila babs baru you can tell its fake.
