The Chosen Ones

It is Friday night. I am in a tiny hotel room in London sweltering in this scorching summer weather with no fan or airconditioning! This makes me love Paris even more. Tonight is my last night overseas. I am starting to really miss home especially the children. Thank you to all who have been popping by this blog this week. Apologies to many for not being able to stop by your fabulous blogs while I have been away. It has been really hectic and believe it or not I still have shopping errands to run tomorrow!

It has been fabulous shopping in Paris for others as well as myself. We have received tremendous service in all boutiques we visited; the Parisians are very tourist friendly! We were treated like VIPs in Louis Vuitton, the best service ever! Due to special requests I will share my Chanel and Louis Vuitton purchases yang tak seberapa tu here with all the kind souls who have been really supportive of me and my little blog. I hope you like it :P

Just in case you were wondering, only paper bags from Rue Cambon Chanel are in white, so the paper bag is a souvenier in itself ;)

A grey brooch.

The pic quality is not so good there was not enough natural light in my hotel room; you can just make out the embossed swirling pattern but you can't really see the two shades of grey.

Large, grey and relatively casual, it adds some variety to my humble brooch collection.

As I mentioned previously, my quest for a classic Chanel handbag had been in vain. Driven by the really favourable price of Louis Vuitton in Paris, I decided to search for the next best thing. However, I always research my serious purchases, I am not an impulse buyer. Never have I made a handbag acquisition without due diligence on the price, design, practicallity and functionality. They do not come cheap to have buyers remorse later. In Louis Vuitton I was stumped at what to purchase since AGAIN all the things I wanted were out of stock throughout Paris!!! And to be honest there weren't many items that I really really wanted from Louis Vuitton... Ape la nasib. Tengok macam cek Hanis kita tu, tak payah pergi Paris, terus je dapat GST dengan Rue Cambon stamping lagi!!! ;D Congrats babe!

Initially I wanted something in cassis epi leather, since it is a rather unusual yet relatively practical colour. So I wanted a Speedy in cassis. Nope, sold out. The only cassis items available were the Pont Neuf and Montaigne Clutch. Both did not work out for me.

I found this bag a bit matronly, a bit stiff and bulky and not really my style...

This small clutch could certainly be useful in my wardrobe...but for the price, I wanted to spend on a more practical item.

I had always thought I wanted the suhali Lockit in verone, but in real life although the colour was lovely, the design looked matronly on me and wasn't really my style.

Shoes I wanted were all sold out in my size. So I was ready to leave without anything for myself :'(

Until out of the blue I saw something that piqued my interest...

A lady was trying on a particular item...

It was the last piece in the house...

I had never considered this particular item since I always thought it looked too casual and would sag too much...

Remember how structured the Chanel flaps/totes are...

But in fact, in real life, it had a certain elegance about it, it could be dressed up even I thought...

And the colour was something I had been wanting lately, on the nude side, something neutral that would work with my wardrobe...

The lady left it on the counter...

My beautiful and kind SA Dora quickly went to collect it for me...

I tried it on...

It looked really lovely...

It was comfortable on the body...

I felt my pulse quicken...

Could it be I was falling in love?..

Not many LVs have made me fallen in love lately...

Could it be that I loved it more than the GST I was considering in substitution for the flap?

Interesting...very, very interesting...

She quoted the price, hmmm...a bit on the expensive side...

I looked inside, the price tag which was written in handwriting was less than what she had quoted...

She checked in the system and confirmed the price on the tag was correct...

That sealed the deal ;D

We were the chosen ones; it chose me and I chose it. It was destiny...Ayat poyo tahap gaban.

To my cousin Hanum, I knew you were contemplating an item from this range dear...I hope you wanted it in a different design and colour though. It is a very special piece indeed, and it has revived my love of Louis Vuitton...

I enjoyed this short visit. Next week it is back to the slog. Balik ni nak kena buat kerja rajin2 without complaints!
